How to open a Facebook profile account

To create or open a Facebook profile account, go to:

Step 1

Go to www.facebook.com in your browser and click the create a new account

Or

Download the Facebook app from Google play store for Android phones or from apps store for iPhones.

Enter your basic information:

1. Your first and last name this is the name people will see in your profile and people will use it to search for you on Facebook. It is also your username that you will to login to Facebook.
2. Your date of birth this is simply the day, month and the year you were born.
3. Gender this is your sex which is mostly either male or female.
4. Phone number this is the mobile number that is associated to your profile. It will be used to recover your account when you forget your password. You can also use it instead of your username to login to Facebook.

Step 3

You will have to verify your phone number through the phone number you just used to successfully open a Facebook profile account.

Therefore, a code will be send to the phone number. Check your messages to copy and paste the codes to the space provided and then click varify or register.

Now you will have to add your profile and cover picture.

Profile picture, this is the picture displayed on your account on Facebook. Anyone who sees your Facebook profile must see your profile picture, therefore, it should be something unique and identical so that people will use it to identify you.

To add a profile picture click on your profile or click edit profile. Then click on your profile picture to add a picture from your files or snap it with your camera.

Cover picture, this is displayed behind your profile picture on your profile. It is hardly for people to see it anywhere except when they specifically visit your profile by clicking your profile picture anywhere on Facebook.

You can add your cover picture by uploading from your files or snapping with your camera when you click on the cover picture on your profile.

Step 5

Basic information/ biography, this is where you add more details about yourself. like your schools attended, city, nicknames, career, add your family members, etc.

Privacy, you will obviously need a privacy, isn't it? So in your profile home page go to information.

You can now edit your information's visibility one after the other by changing who can see them.

Step 7

Add friends. To add friends click on friends from the side bar or in the home page and add them one by one.

You can also Search for a friend using the Facebook Search bar by inserting the person's user name or phone number.

Now go on to start posting on Facebook, joining groups and lots more.
